about
the person behind the practice

hi, i'm melinda.
Mindful Wellness Clinic exists because I lived the thing I now help people through: it took me two years to recover from my own burnout, and that's exactly what led me into the mental health and somatic space. I started this practice because i was tired of watching capable people treat their own stress like something to push through instead of pay attention to, I used to be one of them. I wanted coaching that actually matches real life: direct, a little playful, zero white-coat energy, and built around tools that actually work.
My background is in counselling psychology and somatic coaching, and it shapes everything I do here, how I listen, how I build a session, how I think about change. What I offer is coaching and education: practical, body-aware, journal-friendly, built around the life you're actually living. This practice carries professional liability insurance, and it's coaching, not clinical treatment.
why coaching + the body?
Because insight alone rarely moves anything. You can understand exactly why you're stressed and still be stressed. Coaching gives you direction and accountability; somatic practice gives your nervous system a way to actually come along. Journalling stitches the two together. that's the whole recipe.

certified therapy dogmeet cali.
Cali is a St. Bernese, part Saint Bernard, part Bernese Mountain Dog, with the kind of calm, steady presence that makes her a natural fit for therapy work. I found her in a cardboard box in February 2024, left with nothing but a quarter bag of kibble. She spent two weeks in quarantine while we ran tests and tried to trace where she'd come from. I already had a dog at home, Mila, so keeping her wasn't the plan. She was actually set to go to a farm, but when the potential owners backed out, something in me couldn't let her go. So I kept her, and she's turned out to be exactly where she belonged. Fittingly, her birthday falls on World Mental Health Day, which feels almost written for the work she ended up doing. Since early 2025, Cali has been sitting with patients through quiet moments and reminding them, without a word, that they're not alone.
